And the subject line pretty much covers the extent of my knowledge of the German language (considering I had an A in German in highschool and haven’t really used that knowledge in over 12 years I reckon that’s pretty good going!)
So, as I said on the Nerdgazzum Blog, I haven’t posted anything in a while…what with being back in work full time (not having much time before/after work to do stuff) and when I’m finished I’m wrecked. As well as living day to day with the kids and responsibilities of adulthood and trying to run the business and everything else it is pretty exhausting/daunting.
The last few weeks have been pretty tough in regards to illness (we all came down with a stomach bug 2 or 3 times in the space of a month or so).
But, we’re on the mend and I just need to adapt to this lifestyle to juggle all these different roles and responsibilities. If the business takes off in the way I want/need it to, then this Hell will be worth it!
I’ve recently sorted out my attic – organised it (still got lots to do) and now have a desk and filing system set up in there. Unfortunately, it’s right above the master bedroom and just me shifting position on my chair makes a bit of a racket so my plans to lock myself up there in the night when everyone is in bed to write/podcast/update the website etc. don’t appear to be a good idea (bad times).
As I’m writing this blog I am currently working on the next episode of The Trying Scotsman – I need to get a few episodes edited and uploaded as well as record more frequently so it just keeps going and maintains momentum. Yes, it is still very amateur but as I gain confidence and discover my voice and what I wanna discuss and what-not then hopefully it’ll become something special.
All start-up podcasters generally struggle to begin with (I’ve listened to hundreds and generally always start from the beginning despite how far behind I am) and are rough around the edges – the one thing listening to all of them has taught me is that you should stick with it. So that’s what I’m gonna try and do!
I would love feedback though, ideas for content and so on…drop a comment below or a lil post on the Facebook page etc.
Anyhoo, let’s get this podcast done!
